PLAN CHECK
To ensure that the design and construction of new or existing food facilities meet the applicable laws and ordinances, the plan check staff in coordination with the City Building and Planning Bureau review plans for the following facilities:

- Restaurants
- Markets
- Bakeries
- Bars/Taverns
- Schools and hospital cafeterias
- Liquor and convenience stores
- Food trucks and carts
- Cannabis businesses
Following are examples of when a food facility owner may need to submit plans for review and approval:
- Food facilities requesting a health permit
- New construction, remodeling, or expansion of an existing food facility
- Installation of new equipment or replacement of existing equipment
- Change of ownership for owners taking over inactive/closed facilities
- Menu changes that result in equipment or structural modifications
