Information on COVID-19 CARES Act Community Programs

Seven organizations have been contracted under this funding opportunity and have begun services to provide outreach and education to priority older adult populations and/or programming to reduce social isolation or loneliness in older adults. They are:

Dignity Health St. Mary Medical Center (flyer English, Spanish)
Filipino Migrant Center
Heart of Ida
Jewish Family and Children's Services of Long Beach and West OC
United Cambodian Community
The LGBTQ Center Long Beach

These organizations will be conducting community outreach and education in various languages, providing programs and services to reduce social isolation or loneliness, and enhancing virtual programming. Supply Distribution

In partnership with the Department of Parks, Recreation & Marine (PRM), the Healthy Aging Center is preparing for distribution of CARE Kits through PRM sites in December. CARE Kits will include hygiene supplies such as soap, shampoo, and other toiletries along with resource packets to offer additional information and resource connections. Call the Long Beach Senior Center or the LB Resource Line for updates on availability.
