COVID-19 & CARES Act

Information on COVID-19 CARES Act Community Programs

Seven organizations contracted through CARES Act funding in 2020 provided services to older adult residents including outreach and education to priority older adult populations and/or programming to reduce social isolation or loneliness. These programs were able to provide critical information and services to support the wellbeing of older adults during the pandemic.

The Long Beach Recovery Act was adopted by City Council on March 16, 2021 and includes funding for meeting the basic needs of older adults within the Healthy and Safe Communities allotment.

For help connecting to programs offered through the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services or other community organizations, call the Long Beach Resource Line at 562-570-INFO (4636).
