The below list of infection prevention resources is designed to assist facilities with infection prevention strategies. All the below resources include links to materials, time estimates for training, and key information about each resource. You can also download the resource list in (PDF) format. NETEC Infection Prevention Learning Journey Course
This accredited continuing education activity is intended primarily for healthcare workers and teams which may include but are not limited to, medical and nursing staff, administration, education/training leadership, and infection control leadership. Staff specializing in emergency management, communications, specialized clinical areas, laboratory, facilities management and environmental services are also welcome. Infection Prevention Fundamentals Training Series for Ventilator-Equipped Skilled Nursing Facilities (vSNF)

CDC Train Healthcare Outbreak Response Training Course
The Healthcare Outbreak Response Training introduces learners to key concepts needed to investigate a healthcare outbreak. You will learn how outbreaks are detected and the fundamental components that comprise a typical healthcare outbreak investigation including how to complete an initial assessment; collect, organize, and interpret relevant information; develop hypotheses; and use data to inform control measures. Project Firstline
Project Firstline is a CDC-funded initiative that provides infection prevention and control education and training to frontline healthcare personnel. In California, Project Firstline focuses specifically on Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Environmental Services (EVS) staff in skilled nursing facilities (SNF). In coordination with public health infection prevention partners, Project Firstline offers competency-based health education and training, and support for facility educators. Infection Preventionist Training for Acute Care Hospitals (ACH) Course
This 20-hour self-paced course is designed for healthcare professionals to work around their schedule and does not have to be completed in one session. There is no cost to attend the course; preregistration is required. Twenty continuing education credits will be granted to those who complete the entire course and pass the post test for each module (no partial credit will be issued). CDC/STRIVE Infection Control Training
The CDC/STRIVE curriculum was developed by national infection prevention experts led by the Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET) for CDC. Infection Preventionist Training for Skilled Nursing Facilities Online Course
This 18-hour self-paced course is designed for busy healthcare professionals in order that they can work around their work and home life schedules. This course can be completed in a manner to fit the student’s schedule, if it is completed within the deadline. The modules are not required to be completed all at one time. IPC Training Web Series
The City of Long Beach Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Program hosted a 9-part virtual infection prevention and control (IPC) training series in Spring 2024. Sessions were hosted by Emily Gaddam MHDS, RN, CIC. This Training was designed to equip long term care facility’s (LTCF) infection prevention and control (IPC) leadership with core knowledge and practices for an effective IPC program.
