THIS STEP IS MANAGED BY THE CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT
Completion of a City of Long Beach job application is required and can be completed and submitted on-line 24 hours a day when the filing period is open.
The filing period is generally open for ONE WEEK and applicants are encourage to complete a job interest card with the Fire Department in order to be notified directly when the application filing period is open.
Application filing date: Friday, December 9 through 4:30 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2022.
Completion of the FireTeam entry-level, firefighter examination is required. Applicants are encouraged to complete their testing through National Testing Network (NTN) before the application filing period. All testing must be completed by January 13, 2023.
Valid California State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification and/or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Certification will be required.
