Long Beach Opens Applications for Second Cohort of Long Beach Fire Corps Program

The Program provides young people ages 18 to 30 with hands-on work experience within the Fire Department and other professional training opportunities.Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply online through Monday, Oct. 20, 2025.

The Program offers a seven-month course consisting of paid work experience, monthly workshops and professional trainings such as CPR certification and CERT training. Interns will work within the Fire Prevention Bureau’s Community Services Division to support with various communications-related activities and special events such as the annual Spark of Love Toy Drive and Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Participants will be compensated $22 per hour for a maximum of 400 hours. Priority will be given to Long Beach residents.
