Long Beach Opens Applications for Cannabis Equity Program

In partnership with the City’s Office of Cannabis Oversight, the Program will provide eligible applicants with up to $350,000 in grant funding, based on license type and business size. Funding can be utilized for startup costs, including rent/lease payments, local licensing and regulatory fees, legal assistance, regulatory compliance, capital improvements, equipment and more.  

To qualify, applicants must meet various requirements, including:  

  • Have a family income at or below 80% of the Los Angeles County area median income (AMI) and a net worth under $250,000 
  • Have lived at least five years in a Long Beach area where most residents earn below 80% of the AMI 
  • Either were arrested or convicted for a cannabis-related offense between 1971 to 2016 or have an immediate family member who was
