Real Estate Development Bureau

The Real Estate Development Bureau acts as the real estate broker for the City Manager departments. It is responsible for the acquisition, leasing, and disposition of City property, as well as the management and care of permanently owned City properties. Some of these properties may be in transition from acquisition or in preparation for disposition. In conjuction with third-party property management companies, the Real Estate Deveopment Bureau addresses key concern in these properties such as fence repairing, weed abatement, graffiti removal, large item disposal, transient displacement, landscaping services, among others.

The Real Estate Development Bureau is also responsible for the creation and implementation of policies and procedures for all real estate transactions such as appraisals, valuations, and the negotiation and preparation of permits, leases, and purchase and sale agreements for all City departments and offices directly responsible to the City Manager.
Through our partnership with our sister department, Financial Management - Purchasing Division, the Real Estate Development Bureau procures the services of third-party consultants to assist City staff in completing real estate transactions. Some of these services include: appraisal, acquisition and relocation, broker, economic analysis, environmental, project management, property maintenance, space planning, and title and escrow services.
