Long Beach hotels, restaurants and other tourism sites plan second combined job fair

Release Date: 2018-03-26

By: Harry Saltzgaver

Last year, Long Beach hotels, restaurants and other tourist-related industries joined forces as the Long Beach Hospitality Alliance to both increase the industry’s visibility and expand the labor pool. They’re doing it again.

Next month, the alliance will put on its second Hospitality Job Fair.

As with other job fairs, company representatives will be on hand to interview potential employees.

The fair is from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 — in time to beef up staffs for the summer tourist season. Hospitality Alliance chair Pam Ryan said the group is partnering with Pacific Gateway, Long Beach Call, Long Beach City College and California State University, Long Beach to get as many people as possible to the fair.

The fair also offers three free career workshops:

  • “Inside Look at Careers in Hospitality”;
  • “Best Practices in Hospitality Customer Service”;
  • And “Prepare to Interview and Application Techniques.”
