MTA to Refurbish Four Blue Line Stations

Release Date: 2014-09-19

These station improvements are part of a major Blue Line upgrade.  Improvements to Blue Line stations will include new tile, lighting, paint and landscaping and, in most cases, extended station canopies.  Other work will involve needed rail replacement due to wear and tear over the years.

Downtown Long Beach will receive the first of these upgrades at the 4 Transit Loop stations. Closing stations simultaneously will speed completion of the work so riders can get back on track. Once the work at these stations is complete, Metro will continue northward to Anaheim Station and continue progressively to complete refurbishing stations along the entire line.

Closing the stations simultaneously will help speed the upgrade process so riders can the back in track.
