FY26 Community Budget Meetings
Release Date: 2025-07-19
Now's your chance to join in the City of Long Beach Budget Conversation! Participate in the annual budget process by attending community meetings and providing feedback on the proposed Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) Budget.
The budget cycle will officially begin with the Mayor's release of the proposed budget on July 24, 2025, which will be formally presented by the City Manager at a Budget Hearing on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at or after 3pm, along with a presentation of the FY26 Capital Improvement Plan. The first meeting of the Budget Oversight Committee regarding FY26 will take place on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 3pm, and committee meetings and hearings will continue through the month of August until the Budget Adoption Hearing on Sept. 9, 2025, at 5pm.
Throughout the budget cycle, community members will have 6 opportunities - 5 in person and 1 virtual - to participate in the conversation and learn what is included in the proposed budget, how feedback from community meetings earlier this year helped inform the proposed budget, and how the public can participate in the budget process. One of the in-person budget meetings will be held in District 5, at our very own Wardlow Park Community Center on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 10am - 11:30am.
Additonally, Digital Comment Cards can be submitted online, as another opportunity for community feedback on the proposed budget. All responses are anonymous and will be tabulated and provided to the City Council as a part of the FY26 Budget process in August. This survey will close at the end of the day on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Learn more about the full schedule of budget hearings, committee meetings, and community meetings in the recent City memo or at longbeach.gov/fy26.
