Walk, Bike, and Explore Downtown at Beach Streets!

On Sunday, July 19, 2026, the city will close a major traffic corridor to cars and open the street to people walking and bicycling. This year's event will span Downtown and area neighborhoods, and the route will include Pine Ave from 1st St. to 9th St., Broadway from Pine Ave. to Redondo Ave., Cherry Ave. from Broadway to 4th St., and 4th St. from Cherry Ave. to Junipero Ave. The family-friendly event provides entertainment at festival hubs along the route and gives participants an opportunity to explore different parts of the city. A welcome ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the main stage of the "Kickin’ It Hub" located at Bixby Park (130 Cherry Ave.).
