However, if you are a smart phone user, you will definitely want to download our Go Long Beach app.
The Go Long Beach app is designed to provide Long Beach, CA residents, businesses, and visitors the opportunity to access City Hall, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, from anywhere. You will be able to quickly submit service requests for issues such as graffiti, potholes and sign damage. Visit our Go Long Beach page to learn how you can improve your neighborhood using your smart phone or go directly to the iPhone or Android app stores.
Water Waster Hotline
The Long Beach Water Department rolled-out a Water Waster Hotline for Water Department customers who wish to report violations of City water-use ordinances, particularly overwatering of landscapes. Long Beach residents are currently prohibited from irrigating, lawns, turf and landscape areas beyond saturation, causing significant runoff. Water Department customers may now report violations by calling (562) 570-2455 or by sending an email message to waterwaster@lbwater.org.
Fraud Hotline
The Long Beach City Auditor Fraud Hotline has been established for City employees, citizens and/or vendors to be able to report fraud easily and confidentially. The Fraud Hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Calls are not recorded and a caller does not need to give her or her name. To report fraud, please call (888) FRAUD 07 (888-372-8307) or go to the Fraud Hotline page.
Bulky Trash (ie, furniture, yard debris, appliances)
It is a common misperception that the city will pick up large bulky items during regular trash pick-ups; large items may fill a truck before it can finish its route, or a person may not want the items to be picked up by refuse services, so the city has a policy of not picking up dumped items.
The city will pick up your bulky items only if you request a pick-up, or call to report dumped items. Every Long Beach resident with city refuse service receives two free special trash pick-ups each year. To schedule a collection, call 562-570-2876.
Storm Drain Dumping
Call 562-570-DUMP (3867) to report illegal dumping into storm drains (for example, dumping out motor oil down a street drain) or to learn more about storm water. Please report any illegal dumping activity you witness.
Code Violations
The city has established Building and Health Codes and Zoning Regulations to protect the health, safety, and welfare of our residents. Owners are responsible for maintenance of their property and are liable for any violations.
- For substandard, unsafe, and badly constructed buildings, call 570-CODE (2633).
- For trash, junk, overgrown weeds, and abandoned cars, call 570-6431.
- For illegal garage dwelling units, major auto repairs in homes, fence violations and illegal construction, call 570-7497.
