Latina Empowerment Day

Release Date: 2019-01-29

Dear Friends,

Over the past 18 years, Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) has enabled Latinas to create fundamental change within their local neighborhoods and across California. Nearly 1,000 women and girls participated in HOPE's leadership programs. This non-profit, non-partisan organization is committed to ensuring political and economic parity for Latinas through leadership, advocacy and education to benefit all communities and the status of women.

As a proud alumnus of the HOPE Leadership Institute, Class of 2013, I am happy to announce that HOPE is bringing Latina Empowerment Day to Long Beach on Friday, February 15, 2019, at Hotel Maya! This one-day intensive workshop series is designed to empower Latinas and all women to increase their community impact and strengthen their skills and knowledge on a variety of issues. This session's topics include energy and environmental issues, navigating appointments to a board or commission and personal skill-building.

I'd like to invite you all to join us! Tickets can be found HERE. The schedule for the day is as follows:

  • 8:30 AM: Registration and Continental Breakfast
  • 9:30 AM: Session 1 - 'Knowledge is Power: California's Energy Goals'
  • 11:00 AM - BREAK
