COVID-19 Update

City Beaches Closed Through May 1 

We are temporarily implementing the closure of beaches in alignment with the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health order issued Friday, 3/27. Beach bike and pedestrian paths will also be closed. The following operational changes and continued closure of City facilities are in accordance with the State’s Stay at Home; order and the City’s local Safer at Home; order and will be effective through May 1, 2020, or until further notice. Read more 

     

Additional Parking Lots Added to Alternative Street Parking Plan 

In continuing efforts to mitigate parking impacts caused by COVID-19, the City of Long Beach is adding more free alternative off-street parking options for residents. Residents can apply online for free parking and passes will be issued on a first come first served basis. Suspension of street sweeping parking citations have also been extended through May 1. Read more 

     

Long Beach Police Department Operational Changes in Response to COVID-19 

As part of the City of Long Beach’s All Hazards Incident Management Team, the Long Beach Police Department has been working closely with the Long Beach Health and Long Beach Fire Departments to help manage the City’s response to the to the COVID-19 public health emergency. As a result, the Police Department has implemented changes in its operations to maintain essential police functions and services. Read more
