State Legislative Outreach

The Government Affairs Office main purpose is to advocate, coordinate and advance the City’s State Legislative Agenda to enhance the City’s ability to govern and provide essential municipal and community services. The issues of primary focus for the Office include transportation funding, affordable housing, stormwater management, and other legislation at the forefront of State policies. This Office analyzes State legislation, conducts research and provides strategic guidance to the Mayor and City Council, and City Departments. This Office also works closely with the State Legislative Committee of the City Council to assist the Committee in reviewing State legislation affecting the City and proposed changes to municipal ordinances in order to make recommendations to the full City Council.
