On July 25, 2017, the California Court of Appeal upheld a lower court’s denial of a Petition for Writ of Mandate challenging the City Manager’s decision to terminate Special Services Officer Charles Cunningham for disclosing confidential information, sensitive security information, and dishonesty.
Cunningham disclosed confidential information and sensitive security information regarding the Long Beach Airport and was dishonest about his actions. The Appellate Court found there was substantial evidence to support his termination.
The appeal was handled by Principal Deputy Gary J. Anderson.
