Background and Experience

Michael Swift is a Deputy City Attorney who represents the City of Long Beach and city employees in a variety of civil actions, including public, property liability and employee negligence.

Prior to joining the City Attorney’s Office, Mr. Swift was in private practice where he represented parties in personal injury and labor and employment matters, including wage and hour class action cases.

Mr. Swift is admitted to practice before all the Courts in the State of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Swift received his Bachelor’s Degree from University of California, Davis and received his Juris Doctor from University of San Diego School of Law.
