MARSHA M. YASUDA
DEPUTY CITY ATTORNEY
PRACTICE AREAS
General municipal and transactional law practice, including drafting and reviewing contracts, as well as advising various City departments.
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Ms. Yasuda advises on matters related to the Long Beach Recovery Act, business improvement districts, and airport law. Prior to this, Ms. Yasuda served in the Litigation Division, practicing employment law.
Before joining the City Attorney’s office, Ms. Yasuda served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force. Following active duty, Ms. Yasuda was an Assistant United States Attorney at the United States Attorney’s Office, Central District of California, Civil Division, where she defended federal entities and employees in a variety of civil actions. Ms. Yasuda has also worked in private practice representing municipalities and practicing litigative insurance defense.
Ms. Yasuda currently serves in the California Air National Guard as a Staff Judge Advocate.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
Ms. Yasuda is admitted to practice before all Courts in the State of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
EDUCATION
Ms. Yasuda received her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. She received her B.A. in Political Science from UCLA.
