Background and Experience
Mr. Wilson primarily practices in the areas of municipal law, public contracts, and related transactional matters, and advises various City departments including the City Auditor, Civil Service Department, the Health Department and Housing Authority, and Human Resources. Mr. Wilson advises various bureaus within the Financial Management Department, including Business Services. Mr. Wilson advises clients and public bodies on the Public Records Act, the Brown Act and the Long Beach Recovery Act (LBRA).
Before joining the City Attorney’s office, Mr. Wilson was in private practice where he represented parties in personal injury and labor and employment matters, including wage and hour class actions and Private Attorneys General Act representative cases.
Professional Affiliations
Mr. Wilson is a member of the State Bar of California and the John M. Langston Bar Association of Los Angeles. Mr. Wilson is admitted to practice before all Courts in the State of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Education
Mr. Wilson received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from California State University, Los Angeles. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern Law School, where he was a member of the prominent Trial Advocacy Honors Program.
