Release Date: 2019-12-05
The public is invited to attend the first annual Long Beach Home for the Pawlidays Pet Adoption Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, at Long Beach Civic Center Plaza (411-415 W. Ocean Blvd.).
“At Home for the Pawlidays, residents can help to make the season bright by giving a cat or dog their forever home,” said Mayor Robert Garcia.
Attendees will be able to meet more than 100 animals that are available for adoption, take advantage of free microchipping services, buy pet products, and see demonstrations on bottle feeding kittens, cat trapping and other animal care procedures.
The public also can participate in opportunity drawings with the proceeds benefitting Long Beach Animal Care Services and enjoy entertainment such as face-painting.
The event is sponsored by Mayor Robert Garcia with support from Second District Councilmember Jeannine Pearce and is held in collaboration with the Little Lion Foundation, Helen Sanders CatPAWS, and Long Beach Animal Care Services, with support from Stray Cat Alliance, The Cat Cove, Live Love Animal Rescue and others.
“This holiday season, we invite you to open your home to a new furry companion at the Home for the Pawlidays Pet Adoption fair,” said Second District Councilmember Jeannine Pearce.
“I am excited to have the support of our community partners to hold this event,” said Staycee Dains, ACS Bureau Manager. “And we are committed to placing animals into humane environments and celebrating the human/animal bond.”
