Community Invited to Attend 5th Annual Long Beach Asthma Resource Fair on May 17

The community is invited to attend the free 5th Annual Long Beach Asthma Resource Fair on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Admiral Kidd Park, 2125 Santa Fe Ave. May is Asthma Awareness Month.   

"This is a great opportunity to learn more about asthma and other health impacts of air pollution, and how to address and mitigate these impacts," said Mayor Bob Foster. 

The Asthma Resource Fair will feature:

  • Mobile clinics
  • Doctors, allergists, and respiratory therapists
  • Free health screenings
  • Information about simple and effective asthma management practices, and proper uses of asthma medical devices;
  • Information on health and air quality;
  • Entertainment; healthy snacks; and prizes. 

The Asthma Resource Fair is sponsored by the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services and the following partners: the Long Beach Alliance for Children with Asthma; The Children's Clinic, “Serving Children and Their Families”; St. Mary Medical Center; and Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach.
