ACADEMIA POLICÍACA COMUNITARIA DE HABLA HISPANA El Departamento de Policía de Long Beach, conjuntamente con el Grupo Latino de Concilio ante el Jefe de Policía presentán la Academia Policíaca Comunitaria de Habla Hispana a los miembros de la comunidad. Los participantes ganarán conocimiento sobre el departamento de policía de Long Beach así como una comprensión al Sistema de Justicia Criminal. Expertos del Departamento de Policía en areas como operaciones de patrulla, investigaciones, pandillas, operaciones juveniles, comunicaciones y otros campos relacionados serán proporcionados a través del curso. Además, los participantes podrán participar en una variedad de excursiones educativas y la oportunidad de acompañar a una patrulla durante su jornada. La meta de la Academia Policíaca Comunitaria de Habla Hispana es desarollar un interes común entre la comunidad de habla hispana y el Departamento de Policía. Este interés continuará esforzandose a base de información y educación para la comunidad hispano-hablante. HORARIO Y LOCALIZACIÓN (TENTATIVO – 400 W. Broadway)La Academia Policíaca Comunitaria de Habla Hispana tendrá su sesión una noche por semana, por catorce semanas consecutivas. Cada sesión será llevada a cabo en el Edificio de Seguridad Pública de Long Beach ubicado en el 400 West Broadway Avenue, Long Beach. Una ceremonia de graduación sera celebrada a la conclusión de la Academia Policíaca Comunitaria de Habla Hispana REQUISITOS Vivir o trabajar en la Ciudad de Long Beach Mínima edad de 18 años Ninguna orden de arresto vigente, ningun caso criminal pendiente o convicciones de felonias.
APLICACIÓN Y SELECCIÓN Aquellos interesados en ingresar a la Academia Policíaca Comunitaria de Habla Hispana deben completar una aplicación y devolverla a PSS Nicole Avalos Long Beach Police Department, Community Relations Division, 400 West Broadway, Long Beach, CA 90802. Después de que se confirme su elegibilidad, se le dará una cita para el chequeo de antecedentes y huellas digitales. Una lista de eligibilidad sera compilada y se asignarán los aspirantes a la siguiente academia disponible. SPANISH LANGUAGE COMMUNITY POLICE ACADEMY The Long Beach Police Department, in conjunction with the Chief’s Latino Advisory Group, is presenting a Spanish Language Community Police Academy in Spanish to members of the Spanish speaking community. Participants will gain an understanding of the Long Beach Police Department as well as insight to the Criminal Justice System. Police Department experts in areas of patrol operations, investigations, gang enforcement, juvenile operations, communications and other related fields will be provided throughout the course. In addition, participants will be able to participate in a variety of department tours and have the opportunity to participate in a ride-along.The goal of the Spanish Language Community Police Academy is to develop partnerships between the Spanish speaking community and the Long Beach Police Department. This partnership will continue to build a strong relationship by providing information and education to members of this community. SCHEDULE AND LOCATION (TENTATIVE – 400 W. Broadway) The Spanish Language Community Police Academy session will meet one night a week, for fourteen consecutive weeks. Each session will be held at the Long Beach Police Department’s Public Safety Building, 400 West Broadway Avenue, Long Beach. A graduation celebration will be held at the conclusion of the Spanish Community Police Academy. REQUIREMENTS Live or work in the City of Long Beach Minimum age of 18 years No outstanding warrants, pending criminal cases or felony convictions
APPLICATION AND SELECTION Interested members of the Spanish Language Community Police Academy must complete an application and return it to the PSS Nicole Avalos Long Beach Police Department, Community Relations Division, 400 West Broadway, Long Beach, CA 90802. After eligibility is confirmed, applications will be scheduled for live -scan fingerprinting. An eligibility list will be compiled and applicants will be assigned to the next available academy.
