The Long Beach Police Department is partnering with the Emfinders organization to provide free tracking bracelets to the families of Long Beach residents with cognitive disorders who subscribe to a monthly monitoring service. These rechargeable bracelets, when activated, transmit a cellular signal that can be tracked by local law enforcement to identify the location of the missing person. Through this partnership, the Police Department will be able to more quickly locate these individuals if they wander away from their homes and become lost and/or disoriented. In addition, this will greatly reduce the amount of patrol and investigative resources utilized during these situations.
