MISSING PERSONS

MISSING - FOUND - RUNAWAYS - ADULTS - JUVENILES

The Long Beach Police Department investigates all adult missing person reports until the person is found or determined to be a voluntarily missing. Law enforcement has an ethical and professional responsibility to take each report involving a missing person as seriously as they would any other report. As public awareness and concern about missing persons grows, investigations become more challenging to law enforcement personnel.

According to California Department of Justice guidelines, the investigating agency is normally the agency in which the missing person lives. If the missing person does not reside in Long Beach, a courtesy report will be taken and forwarded to the law enforcement agencies where the missing person lives and was last seen.

If you have knowledge of the whereabouts of anyone who has been reported missing or runaway, please contact the Long Beach Police Department at 9-1-1 (only if an emergency exists) or 562-435-6711. A detective can be contacted 24 Hrs. a day at (562)570-1425 or (562)570-1426, for further information.

The Long Beach Police Department does not have the authority or the resources to find uprooted friends or relatives who have lost contact with each other. Those individuals should seek other public or private resources.
