Richard Rocchi

Commander Richard Rocchi began his career as a police officer with the Long Beach Police Department in 1987. He has worked many diverse assignments, which include Patrol, Field Training, Special Enforcement, SWAT, Gang Enforcement, Community Policing, West Patrol Division, Administration, Internal Affairs, Watch Commander, Crimes Against Persons Section Lieutenant, Academy Director, and Special Enforcement Section Lieutenant. In addition, he has worked as an Academy and Department instructor and has served on a variety of committees and working groups.

Commander Rocchi grew up in Long Beach and is a graduate of Polytechnic High School. He holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Administration of Justice from Long Beach City College, a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Studies and a Masters of Public Administration from California State University Long Beach. He is also a graduate of Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute and the 221^st session of the FBI National Academy.

Commander Rocchi is a member and past president of the Long Beach Police Command Officers Association and the FBI National Academy Associates. He serves as a Council Member of Special Olympics of Southern California and on the guest relations ministry at Saddleback Church. Commander Rocchi is married with three children.
