Eric M. Ledesma

Commander Ledesma began his career as an officer with the Long Beach Police Department in 1990.

He has worked a variety of assignments, including all four-patrol divisions, Field Training Officer, Bicycle Patrol, a Gang Detective, Special Weapons and Tactics Team, and Special Enforcement Section.  As a sergeant, he worked Patrol, the Night Auto Theft Team and the Office of Chief of Police.  While a lieutenant, he worked Patrol, the Critical Incident Management Section and the Office of Counter Terrorism. 

Upon promotion to Commander in June 2011, he assumed the command of Detectives Division.

Commander Ledesma holds an Associate Degree from Fullerton College in Police Science.  He also went to California State University, Long Beach, where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice / Sociology and later a Master’s Degree in Public Policy & Administration. 

He is also a graduate of the University of Southern California-CREATE Program, POST Management Course and the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute.  Commander Ledesma is also involved with the following community activities: Special Olympics, Knights of Columbus, Baker-to-Vegas, and the Boy Scouts of America.
