Jeffry Johnson

Commander Jeffry Johnson has been a city employee for over 29 years, working first with the Recreation Department while in college, and has since been Long Beach police officer for the last 26 years. He is a police commander, currently in charge of the Detective Division.

 

He holds a masters degree in public administration and a juris doctor (law degree), and is a member of the California Bar. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy. Prior assignments include Patrol, Detectives, Internal Affairs, Research & Development, Academy Instructor, Communications, Jail and Youth Services Division. He is currently or has recently served on the board of directors of the Long Beach Bar Foundation, Long Beach Employees Federal Credit Union, Community Rehabilitation Industries, California Peace Officers Association and the Long Beach Police Command Officers Association.

 

He lives in Tustin with his wife and children. Interests include running, singing and playing guitar.
