| Dr. Christine Choe began her career with the Long Beach Police Department in 2006 as a consulting psychologist and was appointed as the Department Psychologist in July 2008. As the Department Psychologist, Dr. Choe is charged with the responsibility of maintaining and improving the readiness and well being of the department. Her duties include pre-employment evaluation, training, program development, crisis counseling, and consultation to the senior managers on the management of organizational change and group dynamics. In addition, Dr. Choe manages critical incidents pertaining to workplace violence, risks concerning officer safety and community safety. Dr. Choe is licensed by the California Board of Psychology and a member of the American Psychological Association, the California Psychological Association, the Society for Police and Criminal Psychology, and the International Chiefs of Police. A native Southern Californian, Dr. Choe earned her Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology and her Bachelor of Arts from University of California, Irvine. Prior to joining the Police Department, she worked in hospital, school, corporate, university, and community agency settings. Christine enjoys horseback-riding, offering coaching advice from the stands of the LA Coliseum, and enjoying the beach with her fiancé, Art. |
