Michael Breen

Michael Breen was born in New York City and grew up in Bergen County, New Jersey. He is a graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT with a Bachelor of Science degree and a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA with a Master of Science in Management degree.

Over the course of a 23-year Coast Guard career, he has served aboard several Coast Guard Cutters and worked in the Search and Rescue and Financial Management specialty areas. His final tour of duty was at the Eleventh Coast Guard District Office in Long Beach, where he retired at the rank of Commander.

Administrator Breen joined the Police Department as an Administrative Analyst in the Fiscal Division in March 1999 and was promoted to Fiscal Administrator in January 2004. As Fiscal Administrator, his division is responsible for processing purchase orders for payment, issuing billings, preparing the annual budget and monitoring its execution, performing financial analyses, and providing office supplies to the Department.
