Community Relations Division Community Relations Division Administrator The Community Relations Division is responsible for managing the department’s public relations programs: crime prevention, public information, and several specialized programs, including 15 various advisory groups to the Chief of Police are coordinated by division staff. The Community Relations Division is comprised of three work units. They are the Crime Prevention, Public Information, and Volunteer Units.
CRIME PREVENTION UNIT - Enables people to create safer and more caring communities by addressing the causes of crime and violence and reducing the opportunities for crime to occur. MEDIA RELATIONS UNIT - The primary function of this unit is to release Police Department Information to all forms of media, the public and internally within the Police Department. The Media Relations Unit is responsible for the following area:
