| » About Your Officer Jan Ostashay joined the City of Long Beach as the Historic Preservation Officer on August 29, 2005. In her role as Historic Preservation Officer, Ms. Ostashay prepares National Register nominations, conducts historic building surveys, reviews projects to determine compliance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic properties, and prepares environmental analysis in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act and National Environmental Policy Act. In addition to evaluating and analyzing projects, Ms. Ostashay utilizes her extensive experience in developing and administering historic preservation programs in Long Beach, including preparation of historic preservation elements and ordinances, and securing grant funding for preservation efforts. Ms. Ostashay has more than 15 years of experience managing and directing historic resource programs and projects. Since 1997, Ms. Ostashay has been the Director of Cultural Resources Management for Planning Consultants Research (PCR), a private land use and environmental consulting firm with offices in Irvine and Santa Monica. Prior to that, she worked for Earth Tech in Colton California, Thirtieth Street Architects in Newport Beach, the Discovery Museum of Orange County, and established her own consulting firm, Ostashay and Associates. Ms. Ostashay has a B.A. in Planning from UC Irvine and a M.A. in Public History/Historic Preservation Program from California State University Dominguez Hills. Get Adobe Flash Player
