The Long Beach Department of Development Services is pleased to announce the publication of new Information Bulletins. These bulletins will provide consistent and uniform interpretation of the codes, clarify code issues as they relate to new construction and new technologies, and explain new regulations. These bulletins are categorized as follows:  GENERAL (DS) – Topics that are general to Building and Safety and Planning.
BUILDING (BU) – Topics that are general to the Development Services Center, Plan Review or Inspection
Services.
The new Information Bulletins will supersede previously published documents, memorandums and other related public information handouts. Please note that some provisions or interpretations of the code as written in previous documents are no longer applicable due to subsequent code changes. Information from these outdated documents or handouts, if not included in the new Information Bulletins, shall be treated as obsolete information. The Department of Development Services will continue to update and publish new Information Bulletins in order to ensure constant and uniform interpretation of codes and regulations. As part of our continuing effort to enhance customer service and assist the construction industry, all of the new and updated Information Bulletins will be made available here on the Department's web site.
