| » About Your Officer Mr. Truong Huynh, the Engineering and Development Services Officer with the City of Long Beach, began his career with the City in July of 2005 and is in responsible charge of overseeing and managing the Department's Plan Review Division and Development Services Center operation. As a licensed professional engineer with extensive building and safety services experience, Mr. Huynh is committed to achieving high customer service satisfaction, providing more efficient and effective services and paying close attention to satisfying the need of the community and the City's development regulations. Before coming to the City, Mr. Huynh worked for 9 years at the City of Los Angeles Building and Safety Department working and managing the public counter operations, supervising the plan review section, and personally performing numerous reviews of complex projects. With a proven track record for implementing strategies that improved productivity at the public counter operations and developing technical bulletins and handouts to assist the public in understanding the organization's policies and procedures, Mr. Huynh was honored with several "Award of Excellence" for simplifying the plan check and permitting process. Mr. Huynh is an active member of the Structural Engineer Association of Southern California (SEAOSC) and contributed regularly to the structural engineering community through committee participation and speaking at technical seminars. Currently, Mr. Huynh is serving as the Co-Chairperson for the SEAOSC Steel Committee that is tasked with the responsibility of studying and providing recommendations for on-going structural steel design issues. Mr. Huynh is also serving as a Structural Specialist Member of the Long Beach Fire Department's Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Team. Mr. Huynh was previously the Secretary for the ICC Structural Code Committee and a member of the LA City's Disaster Assessment Team.
