The Adult Sports program offers a multitude of recreational team sport activities.  Year-round play for participants 18 and older occurs throughout the city, weeknights and weekends.  Enter one of the leagues below with your friends, neighbors or co-workers.  Contact the Sports Office for registration information at 570-1725.

BASEBALL

Baseball - Adult League.  Ages 18 & up.  9-18 players in a 10-game schedule plus playoffs.  All games played on Sundays at Long Beach State, Long Beach City College, local high schools and parks.  The team fee is $505. A resident discount of $60 will be applied if 10 player proofs are provided at time of registration.  Contact the Sports Office for registration information at 570-8920.  Individuals wishing to join existing teams should contact the baseball coordinator at 570-8920 to be placed on the individual players list.

BASKETBALL

The following information applies to the Men’s Weeknight, 6’ and Under, and Advanced League for Women:  Register by team only at the Sports Office. The team fee is $315. A resident discount of $45 will be applied if 7 player proofs are provided at time of registration.  10-game league plus playoffs.  Two officials assigned to each game ($23 per team, per game). Contact the Basketball Coordinator at 570-1735.

Individuals interested in any of the basketball leagues will be given assistance in finding or forming a team by calling the Sports Office at 570-1735.

Basketball - Men’s Weeknight League. Men will play one night per week, Tu-Th, at local schools.  Recreational, former high school and collegiate players are welcome.

Basketball - 6’ and Under League. Teams consist of players 6’ or shorter. Play on Saturdays at local school gyms. Absolutely no player over 6’ tall may participate.

Basketball - Women’s Advanced League. The league for women will bring together former high school, collegiate and recreational players for this year-round program.  Games played on Friday evenings at local high schools and park facilities.

ROLLER HOCKEY

Adult Roller Hockey.  Ages 18 & Up. SUMMER 2007 season scheduled to begin in June.  Leagues will consist of a 10-game season plus playoffs for qualifying teams.

Intermediate Plus and Novice Plus division games that play on Saturday and Sunday.

All games will be located at the Bayshore Rink, located at Bayshore Park.  Team fee is $960.00.  A resident discount of $45.00 will be applied if 9 (NINE) Long Beach player proofs of residency are provided at time of registration.

Individuals interested in joining a team will be given assistance in finding or forming a new team by calling the City’s Roller Hockey coordinator at 570-1736.

Pick-Up Roller Hockey.  Ages 16 & up.  Monday and Wednesday. Times will vary based on daylight availability.  Pick-up times may change if a special event is being held, or cancelled due to inclement weather or other factors.

Full equipment required including HECC approved helmet with cage or half shield.  $6.00 per session, per player.   Minor player(s) must have written permission from a parent or guardian ON FILE prior to participation.

Rink Rental.  Rent Bayshore Rink. Hourly fee is $60.  Reservations are taken at the Adult Sports Office, 4700 Deukmejian Drive, or call 570-1725.

Youth Roller Hockey. Ages 5-13. SUMMER 2007.  Individual player fee of $85.00, which include weekly instructional practices (Tuesday & Thursday) an 8-game season (Sundays), hockey jersey, and participation awards.  For more information, please call 570-1736.

SOFTBALL 

Softball - Seniors. Ages 55 & up.  Saturday league team registration at the Sports Office.  League play consists of 16 games. The team fee is $240. A resident discount of $45 will be applied if 9 player proofs are provided at time of registration. Contact the Sports Office for registration information at 570-1734.

The following information applies to Men’s, Women’s, Coed Slowpitch Leagues and Adult Fastpitch Leagues.  10-16 players in C & D classifications.  Ten games plus playoffs.  Contact the Sports Office for registration information at 570-1734.

Weeknight Slowpitch League - Men’s, Women’s & Coed. The team fee is $460. A resident discount of $60 will be applied if 9 player proofs are provided at time of registration.

Weekend Slowpitch Leagues -Men’s & Coed: Long Beach Resident Teams. Team fee is $395. A resident discount of $60 will be applied if 9 player proofs are provided at time of registration.

VOLLEYBALL - INDOOR 

The following information applies to Adult Coed, Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Leagues. League consists of ten matches plus playoffs. Each match has an assigned official. Register by team only at the Sports Office.  The team fee is $345. A resident discount of $45 will be applied if 7 player proofs are provided at time of registration. Volleyball - Coed League. Evening indoor play at local middle schools.  Beginner, intermediate, advanced-intermediate and advanced leagues offered.

Volleyball - Men’s League. Intermediate, advanced-intermediate and advanced leagues offered.

Volleyball - Women’s League. Intermediate, advanced intermediate and advanced leagues offered.

Open Gym Night. Interested in playing in the City Adult Indoor Volleyball Leagues and are not on a team?  We encourage you to attend, play and create new teams for the upcoming season. Please call the Sports Office at 570-1731 for site, date and time. Currently, open play occurs at Pan Am gym on Tuesdays, 7:45pm-10:15pm.  The fee is $3 per person.

Adult Beach Coed League. Outdoors at Granada Beach courts (east of Belmont Plaza Pool).  Two divisions offered:  4-person intermediate and advanced; 4-person intermediate and novice.  Register by team only at the Adult Sports Office.  Team fee is $230 . Call 570-1731 for more information.
