Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine to Offer New Online Reservation System for Long Beach Golf Courses
Beginning on January 21, 2008, local golfers will have more time to make an advanced tee reservation online for City of Long Beach golf courses. The Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine teamed with the City’s golf course operator, American Golf Corporation to develop the new system.
Previously, golfers could make online reservations five days in advance. The new online system, available at www.lbcgolf.com, www.longbeach.americangolf.com, or from www.lbparks.org/park/recreation/golf.asp, will allow tee time reservations up to eight days in advance from the convenience of home or work on a secure web server. Instead of getting busy signals or waiting on hold, golfers can access tee times at all five Long Beach courses through this new service.
Golfers may purchase a $20 annual reservation card. Cards are sold at Recreation Park 18-hole Golf Course, 5001 Deukmejian Drive, 562.494.4424. The cards are sold daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Resident card purchasers are required to bring a drivers’ license or photo identification along with a utility bill or car registration with matching Long Beach addresses to purchase a resident card. The resident reservation card will allow residents to book online beginning at 6:00 am, eight days in advance. The non-resident reservation card will allow golfers to book online beginning at 6:30 am, eight days in advance. Golfers without a reservation card will be allowed to book online beginning at 10:00 am, eight days in advance.
The current phone reservation system will book tee times eight days in advance during the initial rollout/learning transition period. Afterward, phone reservations will be taken five days in advance at each golf course after 12:00 pm. El Dorado Park Golf Course, Skylinks at Long Beach and Recreation Park 18 Golf Course also will have reservation terminals for those golfers who want to book tee times at the golf course.
