Children must be at least 42 inches tall or accompanied by an adult in

the water at all times. Swimsuits required. Infants must wear swim

diapers. Family Recreation requires one parent or responsible adult

guardian in the water with children. Water temperature is maintained

between 83-86 degrees. The pool is an indoor year round facility.

Martin Luther King Jr. Park Pool will be closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

There will be no water exercise class on Saturday, May 23.

Ages 16 & up. Looking for a new style of exercise? This is the class for

you! It will help you shape-up and keep fit. This class is offered on an

on-going basis. Don't miss the fun! Fee is $3.00/class meeting. Senior

Citizens 50+ free.

Youth classes are 25 minutes in length; adult classes are 50 minutes in length. Registration for classes will be taken at King Park Pool during regular scheduled hours or online on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register early to reserve your place in class and no later than one week prior to the beginning of the session.

If you are unsure of the level for which to sign up, call or stop by the pool to arrange a swim test. Classes may be cancelled or combined in the event of low enrollment. Please register early to reserve your place in class and no later than one week prior to the beginning of the session.

Swim lesson scholarships funded by the LA84 Foundation are available to Long Beach residents from 7-17 years of age. Applications are accepted in person only at the pool. Bring proof of residency and your child's birth certificate to apply for a scholarship. Applications are accepted during open pool hours. You must arrive 15 minutes before closing to complete the application.


Saturdays, 9:30-10:30 am. Fee $40. Get started for a future job as a lifeguard.

Learn swimming and lifeguarding skills. Must have Level 5 swim

skills(tryouts may be required) and be between the ages of 11-15.

The USA Swimming Foundation's Make a Splash initiative is a national child-focused water safety campaign, which aims to provide the opportunity for every child in America to learn to swim.
