General:
A five-foot, chain-link fence and four sets of double entrance and exit gates provide a secure environment for dogs. There is an enclosed section at the east end of the park specifically for small dogs.

The Dog Park is a non-supervised facility.Use at your own risk.The City of Long Beach and the Recreation Dog Park Association accept no responsibility for the behavior of dogs, dog owners, or general beach patrons.

Location:
two-acre Recreation Park Dog Park is located at 5201 E. 7^th Street in Long Beach.

Hours:
The facility is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The park may be closed Mondays before noon for maintenance. The park is lighted at night.

Amenities:
Watering stations, benches and tables are placed throughout the park. Bag boxes and pooperscoopers are placed along the fences around the park.

Rules:
The Bark Board inside the east gate lists park rules and other information.

• Pick up after your dog and dispose of waste in the containers.
• Dogs older than 4 months old must be vaccinated and licensed to use the facility. Puppies younger than 4 months are not permitted.
• Dog owners must have a leash available for use outside the fenced area.
• No aggressive dogs. Owners are legally responsible for injuries caused by their dog.
• Professional dog handlers are not permitted to use the facility in the conduct of their business.
• No female dogs in heat.
• No spiked collars on dogs -- they can injure other dogs when they play.
• No food of any kind.
• Dogs cannot be left unattended.
• Children in the exercise area must be supervised by adults.
• Children are not permitted to run, shout, wave arms or excite dogs in exercise areas.
• No bicycles, roller blades, roller skates, skateboards and strollers in the exercise area. Exception: wheelchairs.
• No sports--football, volleyball etc.--are permitted.
• Use of the dog exercise area by any dog shall constitute implied consent of the dog's owner to all the above rules and guidelines as well as parking regulations.
