There is also a Model Boat Shop open during the summer only.
MODEL BOAT SHOP
June 17- August 2
Recreation Leaders certified in First Aid and CPR will be on site to assist participants with the constrction of model sailboats at the Model Boat Shop for seven weeks this summer. Races are held each Friday Afternoon at the Colorado Lagoon. This is a drop-in program for children ages 7 years and up. The summer program ends with the International Sea Festival Clyde W. Ellerman Memorial Model Boat Regatta on Friday, August 2.
A summer registration fee of $60 will be charged for each participant.
Registration will take place on an ongoing basis at the Model Boat Shop beginning Monday, June 17.
Program hours are 10 AM - 3 PM, Monday - Friday.
Supplies are additional and are as follows:

History
A project is underway to restore the water quality and habitat of the Colorado Lagoon by eliminating dry weather storm drain discharges into the Lagoon, dredging contaminated sediment, reshaping the Lagoon edge to allow for additional habitat ranges, removing the north shore roadway, parking lot, picnic area and restroom and cleaning the culvert between the Lagoon and Marine Stadium or opening a channel to replace the culvert.
