The City of Long Beach Animal Care Services Bureau (ACS) invites the community to its 2014 Open House from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014. The animal shelter is located at 7700 E. Spring Street, Long Beach, CA 90815. All residents, friends and guests are welcome to attend. No RSVP is necessary.
"In the past year ACS was able to increase adoptions, partnerships, live release rates, and conducted more outreach events in the community for low cost vaccination and, spay and neuter clinics," says George Chapjian, Director Parks Recreation and Marine, "the coming year promises to be an exciting year for building on the vision of becoming California's safest large city for people and animals.“
The Animal Live Release Rate in the City of Long Beach has steadily increased to an all time high in 2013. How did it happen and how do we continue progress in 2014?
Residents and guests will be provided with a report card on the past year as well as an overview of new programs and technologies available to residents in 2014. Refreshments, tours and comments from residents will be included. Information on animal adoption, licensing, spay and neuter programs, and other animal care information will be available.
