Recently, I shared the good news that Long Beach will experience a budget surplus in ongoing general funds for the first time in a decade. The surplus is the result of our fiscal discipline and commitment to funding priorities over the last seven years that reflect the values of our residents and businesses.
Additionally, there is $45 million in one-time funding that the Mayor and City Manager recommend for various deferred maintenance needs, including funding for projects in the Second District.
I invite you to review the Mayor and City Manager's recommendations
, then join me at a Community Budget Meeting where our City Management team will present next year's budget and take your questions and comments.
