CEQA is a vital tool for citizens because it ensures that community members have the information they need to weigh in on land use proposals that would impact their community and their environment.
This workshop provides a great opportunity for community activists to get some important training at an affordable price about one of California's most critical environmental protection laws and its practical use. What makes CEQA so valuable is that it requires disclosure of project impacts prior to approval, and it specifies that alternatives that are less damaging be analyzed and considered by decision makers.
