New Water Main Connection
In order to connect the newly installed water main to the existing system on Hackett Avenue at Harco Street, it will be necessary for the Long Beach Water Department to temporarily shut the water off on Harco Street between Iroquois Avenue and Palo Verde Avenue and on Hackett Avenue between Harco Street and Parkcrest Street.
This work is scheduled to be performed on Tuesday, February 12, 2013.
Please draw some water for use during the shutdown and please keep all faucets closed to prevent flooding when service is restored.

Protest Period Extended for "Clean Water" Measure
Following the conclusion of the Clean Water, Clean Beaches Measure Public Hearing and the testimony of hundreds of concerned stakeholders, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved Supervisor Knabe's motion to allow for more time for protesting the proposed parcel tax. The County Board of Supervisors continued to hear complaints from residents, businesses, school districts, churches and non-profits that this process has not been open and transparent. Even as the Board was hearing testimonies at the public hearing, Supervisor Knabe's office was receiving emails and phone calls from residents asking where they could get a protest form and how they could protest the measure.
