Holiday Lights on Schedule
Holiday lights in the ponds and in Good Neighbor Park.

I raised enough money last year to make sure we would have the annual holiday lights in the duck pond near Willow Street and in the pond at Heartwell Park this year. The lights will go on right after Thanksgiving. The living Christmas tree in Good Neighbor Park will also be decorated as well as the gazebo.

Mark you calendars for a special visit by Santa Claus and "The Conductor" as we host a pajama party and watch a magical train movie at El Dorado and Ruth Bach branch libraries on December 1 and 8th.

A Little Dose of History
Sharing Long Beach History.

Lincoln Park market.  Local entrepreneur Squire DuRee organized the Municipal Market at Pacific Park (later renamed Lincoln) in 1913. The market continued for many years and featured a variety of concessionaires who paid 50 cents a day for a stall on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Flowers and food were sold at 112 stalls and featured vendors of all nationalities.
