Interested in volunteering? Don't know where to start? Come to the 10th Annual Fall Volunteer Village   


Tuesday, October 16 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.    

El Dorado Park West Community/Senior Center

2800 N. Studebaker Road   


The event provides potential volunteers an opportunity to interview nonprofit and public agencies to find a volunteer placement that matches their time, talents and interests. Everyone -students, adults, retirees, families and corporate employees - with an interest in volunteering is invited to attend.


Close to 50 Greater Long Beach community organizations will have representatives available to provide potential volunteers information about their programs and volunteering needs.

Volunteers Needed for 5th Annual Bicycle Count


Want to help make Long Beach the most bike friendly city in the nation? Here's your chance to get involved by volunteering for the City's Fifth Annual Bicycle Count on Thursday, October 18, or Sunday, October 21.  

The City of Long Beach and California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) are seeking volunteers to help conduct bike and pedestrian counts at more than 35 locations throughout Long Beach.  There are multiple volunteer time slots and count locations.  High school students are welcome to participate with parental permission.

Step 1: Select a Volunteer Training to Attend on Tues., Oct. 16, or Weds., Oct 17  

When:  Tuesday, October 16 
Where: CSULB Vivian Engineering Center (VEC) room 224 
Times:  12 PM, 2PM, or 5:30PM 


When: Wednesday, October 17
Where: Long Beach City Hall, 10th Floor Conference Room, 333 W. Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90802
Times:  8 AM or 9 AM (Training will last approx. 30 minutes tops!)

Step 2: Let us know which Volunteer Training you will be attending

Register online at by Monday, October 15. You can also contact us via email or phone with the time you plan to attend the Volunteer Training. Please be sure to share your email and cell phone number with us.

Step 3: Count bicyclists & pedestrians on October 18 and/or 21

On 10/18, Thursday: 7- 9 am or 4-6 pm
On 10/21, Sunday:  12 - 2 pm

Step 4: Drop off Count/Survey Forms

Drop off your completed count forms and be showered with appreciation!
