Free Car Seat Safety Check at Good Neighbor Festival, Sept. 29
(LONG BEACH, CA; September 11, 2012) – Parents can ensure that their child seats are properly installed at the Fifth District’s largest annual event, the 6th Annual Good Neighbor Festival on September 29. The Car Seat Safety Check is a free service offered by appointment only, so residents are encouraged to call or email to reserve their space.
The Car Seat Safety Check is sponsored by Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Long Beach Miller Children’s Hospital, Safety Belt Safe, Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services, and the Office of Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske.
Good Neighbor Festival is just south of the car seat check in Good Neighbor Park at 2800 N. Studebaker Road. The car seat check will be held just north of the festival in the El Dorado Branch Library Parking Lot at 2900 N. Studebaker Road. Entrance to the car seat check area is at the northern end of the library parking lot. To make an appointment, contact Danny Luna at (562) 933-9151 or Dluna2@memorialcare.org. Registrations times are between 10 am – 2 pm.
The annual Good Neighbor Festival features The Elm Street Band, a “What I Like Best About My Neighborhood” photo contest, a watermelon-eating contest, and a variety of booths that include Fifth District neighborhood organizations, non-profit organizations, and city departments. A number of activities and games for families and children will be provided.
The Good Neighbor Festival honors residents and organizations who serve their community with the annual Good Neighbor Awards.
