A special offer from Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske
Your Lights
A special offer just for you!

Dear Reader,

Southern California Edison (SCE) customers in Long Beach can exchange inefficient halogen and incandescent light fixtures for new ENERGY STAR-qualified lamps, at the sixth annual Operation Lamp Exchange. The event is on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 8 am to 3 pm at 2900 Bellflower Blvd., Long Beach near KMART.

ENERGY STAR-qualified light bulbs use about 75 percent less power than a traditional incandescent bulb and last at least six times longer. Changing one light bulb can save more than $40 over its lifetime in electricity costs. ENERGY STAR-qualified light bulbs generate 75 percent less heat, are safer to operate and can cut home cooling costs.

The offer is open to residential customers, who must be at least 18 and bring their driver's licenses showing a ZIP code in SCE's service territory. Customers may exchange up to five working lamps per household.
