Pan Am Park will feature “Summer Family Fun Night” on August 5th from 3 – 6 pm, announced Fifth District Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske.
"A number of activities are planned, including arts and crafts provided by the Long Beach Museum of Art," explains Councilwoman Schipske. "They also will be raffling off a year family membership to the museum. As well, the Port of Long Beach is providing snow cones, and the best part of the day is the ever popular music of Pan Jive."
“Sit back on your lawn chair, close your eyes, listen to the music, and just relax, “ adds Councilwoman Schipske. “Your family will feel like you have just taken a trip to the islands.”
Pan Jive performs a smooth blend of Calypso, Reggae, Ska, Latin, and Contemporary music through the unique island sounds of the “Steel Drum”. Utilizing coconut-sweet rhythms from Trinidad and Jamaica, Pan Jive swings a tropical groove to sensibly compliment the beautiful summer weather of Southern California.
The Summer Family Fun night will also have plenty of activities for children that include face painting, and a kids bounce house. Pan Am Park is located at 5157 East Centralia Street, Long Beach, CA. The public is invited.
