Eliminating Business License Taxes for Real Estate Agents
Tuesday, June 19 City Council Agenda: Item #16
Councilmember DeLong, in conjunction with 1st District Councilmember Robert Garcia and Vice Mayor/ 2nd District Councilmember Suja Lowenthal, are sending a recommendation to the City Manager at the June 19, 2012 City Council meeting to request that the City Manager's office determine the feasibility of eliminating individual business license fees for real estate agents in the City of Long Beach and replacing this fee with a reduced "per employee" fee to the broker. They will request that the City Manager report back to the City Council within the next 30 days.

Councilmember DeLong believes that promoting such a policy in Long Beach will improve the city's "business friendly" reputation and will facilitate the city's taxation process. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this upcoming agenda item, please contact Councilmember DeLong's office at  District3@longbeach.gov or at 562-570-6300.
