Councilmember Neal's Weekly Message - March 5, 2012
Last week, we held our third North Long Beach Small Business meeting at Jordan High School. More than 15 9th District small business owners attended and discussed the next steps to forming a business improvement district.

By the end of the meeting, owners agreed to call themselves the "North Long Beach Business Alliance." Expect this group to play a major role in making the 9th District a better place for families and businesses to thrive.

Next, I would like to invite neighbors to the Starr King and Grant Neighborhood Association meetings this week. Starr King meets every first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Greater Open Doors Church located at 132 E. Artesia Blvd. The Grant Neighborhood meets every second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church located on the corner of Orange and 64th St.

Lastly, mark your calendars on March 10, 2012 for the Ramona Park canvassing. Stay alert for more details in the upcoming week.

Thanks for reading and have a great week!
