Last week, we brought together small business owners and operators along the North Atlantic Ave. and Artesia Blvd. corridors to discuss ways to work together and organize to build a better small business community here in North Long Beach. I was very pleased that more than 20 small businesses joined the conversation and pledged their support for working together to create a new business association, here in North Long Beach. This was a very promising first meeting, and in 2012, we plan to keep the dialogue going, while expanding to our other corridors, such as Long Beach Blvd and Cherry Ave.
Secondly, this past Saturday, the Daisy Lane parade was a tremendous success. I was joined by my staff and numerous Ninth District residents on our fire truck. Congratulations to Councilmember James Johnson and those Seventh District residents who worked hard to put this tremendous event together.
Lastly, be on the look out for a special year-end survey, for Ninth District residents only, to capture feedback on our Building a Better Ninth District, Phase II program, "Discover, Design, Develop," as well as an opportunity to provide suggestions for out Phase III program.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,
Long Beach City Councilmember, Ninth District
