An East Village Make-Over
On Tuesday morning I joined neighbors and local East Village business owners in celebrating all new street banner art from Long Beach Blvd to Alamitos. These banners are just the latest improvements we have made to 4th Street in the last two years. This corridor has been a priority for me, and I am thankful to the Redevelopment Agency, the Downtown Long Beach Associates, and the East Village Association for all of their hard work and support.

In total, the Redevelopment Agency has spent over $1.5 million in improvements on 4th between Long Beach Blvd and Alamitos, they include:

- Graphic Art Banners.
- 52 Brand New Light Poles.
- Facade improvements for the Creative Reuse Offices, Fingerprints & Berlin Coffee, & Alamitos Video.
- Renovation of blighted former gas station at 4th & Atlantic.
- New trees and bike racks.
- Other improvements.

In addition, we are fortunate to have great residents moving into new Lofts and Condos at the City Place Lofts, the BLU Condos, and 4th Street Lofts.

This is just the start, we are also hard at work on East Village improvements on 3rd, 7th and Alamitos. More on those at a later time.
